Donkmaster Biography

Sage Thomas is the real name of Donkmaster, who was born in Savannah, GA has been building cars since he was 16. His uncle, Buggy, taught him everything he knows about hard work and racing. Now that he’s got more years under his belt than on top of the hood of a car, this family tradition is still going strong.

Sage Thomas started racing at a very young age and became the first South Carolina donk racer when he took first in the BMX Senior 2 divisions at the UCI High-Speed Track World Cup in 1993. In 1996 he attended the World Cup, which was held in Phoenix, AZ. With the support of his dad, he won that year.

He’s been studying the sport of racing from a very young age. He did research, traveled, tried a few things, made mistakes, celebrated wins, and nurtured his love for the sport. Watching racers like Murff Dog make pretty Donks fast ignited respect and a challenge. He decided that out of South Carolina will come to the fastest Donk on big wheels.

After his first race, his whole family was so proud of him that everyone was planning to make a pin for his back that said: “Best Ever”. Little did they know that it would become a signature for the Donk Racing Organization in 1996, called the Skittle Pack. Sage was entered in the PEMRA Track Nationals in 1997, placing 7th in the BMX Pro and winning the “Skittle Award”. He switched to Skittle Bike Shop pro in 2000 and in 2001 Sage took second at the USA BMX Nationals.
